“Everything is gone…almost”

Hope.  Joy.  Peace.  We take the presence of these things for granted.  If we’re honest, we often just assume these things to be ever-present rights and not gifts.

But what if you lost everything?  Clothes…gone.  Furniture…gone.  Friends, job, money…all gone.  Even your health…gone.  Would your hope and joy vanish with these things?  Where would your source of peace be?

This is the story of a family I met.  They have nothing…well, almost nothing.  They still have hope in things eternal.  They have joy (even if just a hint here and there).  And their peace rests in the Lord.  Their faith in Him and their love for each other sustain them.  I am humbled to have met them and honored to call them friends.

While moving from D.C. to North Carolina, the moving truck that they borrowed was impounded (the owner of the truck had been writing bad checks).  Everything they owned was in that truck.  That was 6 months ago.  The husband has kidney disease and is hooked up to a dialysis machine 3 times a week.  This makes it difficult to get back on their feet.

If you would like to help, we are gathering house-hold items to bless this family.  Right now they have a bed, a coffee table and a few articles of clothing.  They need everything from linens to furniture to dishes to silverware to clothes.  Contact us if you would like to help.
